About Brigid
Dr Brigid Teevan is an educator, researcher, and specialist in Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) with more than 20 years' experience working across primary and post-primary education in Ireland.
Her work is guided by a simple belief: young people are best supported when parents, schools, and communities work together. Through her teaching, research, and professional practice, Brigid aims to help create safe, informed, and supportive environments where young people can develop healthy relationships, critical thinking skills, and confidence in navigating today's social and digital world.
Brigid holds a Doctorate in Childhood Studies from Queen's University Belfast, where her research explored the perspectives of young people, parents, and teachers on responding to adolescents' exposure to online pornography. Her work highlights the importance of participation, dialogue, and partnership when addressing sensitive issues affecting young people's wellbeing.
Alongside her research, Brigid has worked with schools, parents, and educators throughout Ireland, delivering RSE programmes, parent workshops, and professional development opportunities. Her approach combines evidence-based information with practical strategies that support meaningful communication and strengthen connections between home and school.
Through speaking, teaching, research, and resource development, Brigid is committed to supporting parents and educators to engage confidently with young people on topics relating to relationships, sexuality, wellbeing, and digital culture.
